Bus Shelter Ad Rental Management

Multiple county units share bus-shelter ad slots; availability relied on manual replies, overlapping bookings needed post-hoc coordination, and application records were hard to retain. We built a rental platform with map, calendar, and submit-time conflict checks—consolidating availability lookup, audit, and Word/Excel generation in one portal.

Relevant if you manage public facility rental with availability lookup and audit conflict checks.

Outcomes

Conflict blocked at apply

Scenarios & highlights

  • Applying units check availability via lookup, map, or calendar before online submission—overlaps blocked at submit
  • County coordinators approve or reject in the audit UI—reviewer, time, result, and attachments retained
  • Site maintainers update shelter coordinates, routes, ad dimensions, and active status so maps and options stay aligned

Challenge

1. Cross-unit applicants could not see ad slot availability in real time. 2. Overlapping time-slot applications were common, increasing coordinator workload. 3. Apply, audit, and reporting workflows were fragmented with incomplete records.

Solution

Built an ASP.NET Core rental platform: Google Maps site map and FullCalendar availability; submit-time overlap checks block conflicting applications; online audit with attachments; Word application forms and Excel summary exports; agency SSO integration.

Results

Availability lookup moved from passive replies to self-service map and calendar views by route and station. Duplicate bookings blocked at application time—overlapping periods cannot create a case, reducing returns and cross-unit coordination. Documents and statistics generated from application data—audit results and files retained in-system for daily consolidation. Account management integrated with agency SSO—staff sign in with existing credentials and synced org data.
