Environmental Volunteer Management

Agencies must manage environmental volunteers across operating units and neighborhood teams, and file service data to central standards—rosters, hours, and training were scattered; export prep was error-prone; officials, volunteers, and NGOs need different login paths. We built a volunteer management system with a Vue.js admin UI, API layer, and JWT role routing—MOHW-format exports and gov-cloud account login.

Relevant if you manage volunteer rosters, service hours, and central-government export formats.

Outcomes

3 user-type access models

  • Frontend routes 40+

Scenarios & highlights

  • Operating-unit coordinators create service plans, log field records, consolidate hours, import rosters, and audit training signups
  • County/district staff query volunteers across teams, consolidate hours, and export MOHW-format filings
  • Volunteers and team leaders view profiles and training status; captains log service records and export rosters
  • NGO accounts manage volunteers within their operating unit—scope limited by JWT region

Challenge

1. Rosters, service hours, and training records scattered across units—hard to audit and consolidate. 2. Service plans and field records must export to MOHW and other central formats—manual prep causes gaps. 3. Certification, honor cards, insurance, and rewards link to volunteer master data—separate entry causes inconsistency. 4. Officials, volunteers, and NGOs need different login and data visibility—separate UIs required.

Solution

Built a SPA volunteer platform: roster maintenance, Excel import, and departure processing; service plans, cleanup items, field records, and hours export; training registration/audit, certification rosters and card printing; MOHW/MOI format exports; officials via gov-cloud header or password login, volunteers/NGOs via credentials, JWT user type and region routing.

Results

Volunteer data organized hierarchically by operating unit and team—Excel import and departure processing supported. Service hours linked to plans—field records tie to plans and participants; export service slips, rosters, and meal/travel expense lists. Central filing via multi-format exports—rosters, MOHW volunteer forms, service stats, honor card applications. Login split by user type—JWT carries type and region; UI shows role-appropriate functions.
